The fabled and rare wing-on-wing with a single reef! Running North up Penobscot Bay after an overnight sail from Mount Desert. The Southerly filled in after sunrise and we took advantage of it. You can really see the reinforced leech and the extra reinforced reef tack and clew of the Zoom sails. Lanex lines pulling strong. The pole is fully independent of the jib, so we can roll the jib without worrying about the pole falling, or getting out of control. Topping lift + foreguy + afterguy. #safetyfirst

We pair our students up and give you the tools to stand your own watch under the guidance of our mate or captain. Being in the hot seat lets you feel the weight of responsibility… the ultimate learning tool.

One week until our first expedition of 2025! So mu

One week until our first expedition of 2025! So much excitement for a fantastic season. Expeditions to Halifax, Yarmouth , and Newport this year. Plenty of great Maine sailing as well. Our first expedition is always a bit of a shake down sail! A realistic experience of what it’s like to commission a boat after the long winter storage. We’ve completed a bunch of big projects and upgrades this spring, so there will be plenty to keep an eye on to ensure everything is working as expected. Our mate @court_boucher will be aboard for the first trip! And @tara_watkin is back to help us prep the boat this week!
